The Final Pieces...

The Final Pieces

If you've been watching the show, you know I'm always talking about my Amazing Spider-Man collection. I've been trying to get the whole friggin' thing, every issue, as kind of the crown jewel in my whole damn comics geekdom. Over the few years we've been doing the show, I've met a few of you out there with similar aspirations, and some who've just wished me good luck.
So whether you're keeping up, keeping score, or keeping tabs, here's the last 14 issues of Amazing Spider-Man that I need before I finally finish the entire collection!

R.I.P. Frazetta

Frank Frazetta Died!
I SUCKS writing this. The man was 82 when he passed away from a stroke but i can honestly say that i didn't want him to go. As devastated as the crew was when Michael turner died, this hits me a bit more personally.
Frazetta was an iconic artist. Ground breaking in so many ways. His work became the face of Fantasy and Sci-Fi.
His style was unique and gorgeous.
His technique... well he was known for putting his work in his oven so that it could be completed. In one day!
He asked for his paintings back and got them. Setting a precedent for all artists.

This week;

Astioning Spider-Man and Wolverine #1- I don't expect it to be good, but it's worth giving a chance.
Brightest Day #1- I really hope that two year from now we're not reviewing issue #23 or 24. Hopefully this is a nice quick story, which in today's standards will be about anywhere between 6 and 8 pages.
Incorruptible #5- Liking the story.
Irredeemable #13- There's needs to be a resolution soon. Pluntoniun is still at large, It seems to basically be the same thing stretched out from issue to issue in regards to the basic plot.

This week's stuff;

1) Aladdin: Legacy of the Lost #3- A really good interpretation of the classic story.
2) Captain America #605- If I have to see them rhyme "shield" with "wield" one more time. I'm going to do something that rhymes with "tomit fall dover nyself".
3) Detective Comics #864- Should start a new story line. Me happy. Last story line not so good.
4) Fantastic Four #578- Annulus is back. Should be good.

And here we go again;

1) Doomwar #3- He better wreak some havoc by this issue or it's going to be all for naught. Doom is starting to join the same club as Wolverine and Deadpool. They're starting to use him everywhere. Sooner or later he's going to join the orange lanterns.
2) Green Lantern #53- It'll most likely be a Blackest Night wrap up and a Brightest Day introduction. Unless some questions are answers, I'm gonna be mighty annoyed.
3) Marvelous Land of Oz #5- Good take on the story. Good artwork. Can't go wrong.

Check out Steve's appearance on the Dr. Blogstein show

Roger called me afterwards and told me he started screaming the answer to the third question at the computer when I hesitated to answer it.

If only I had a window open....

The Ultimate BATMAN video game!!!

In the Batman universe “The Mission” is Bruce Wayne’s only concern. “The Mission” is Batman’s ongoing and never ending battle to protect Gotham City. With that in mind, where is the ongoing and never ending Batman video game?

The comics I plan on picking up this week are as follows;

1) Batgirl #9- The last few issues were kind of blah, but I'm gonna stick with it a while longer and give it a chance.
2) Black Widow #1- Interested to see where they go with this. She's had two minis in the last six months and now her own on-going. They always do this, they really amp up a character to the point where she's everywhere.
3) Brightest Day #0- Hopefully the cover price is 0 as well. I never understood the 0 concept. Are you that excited about releasing the comic that you can't even name it number 1.

Batman: Dark Knight Dynasty

Dynasty

All right, someone gave me Batman: Dark Knight Dynasty to read. And against my better judgment, I did.
I'm all for alternate versions of our heroes as long as it's contained and doesn't filter into the mainstream universe.
That being said, Dark Knight Dynasty is split into three chapters; past, present and future. Now right off the bat (no pun intended, ah you know what, it's intended), I'll like to say that there is Monkey-Robin in the future story. That's right, Monkey-Robin. A monkey in Robin's clothing. And he talks! Perfect English, just like the regular Robins!

The Greatest BATMAN Video Game... to Date!

Rocksteady Studios and Eidos Interactive incorporated and improved all the best features from previous Batman games, adapted an award winning Batman graphic novel, and the greatest Batman game to date was born. Playing through Arkham Asylum I was reminded of Batman games of the past.
