70 Year Old Handmade Superman Toy

LOOK, UP IN THE SKY!

Hope everyone enjoyed their SUPER weekend! Between The Man of Steel coming out and Father's day, I'm sure it was action packed in some way, shape or form!

I have my own story to share with ya that is not only Superman related, but has to do with my own dear, ol' Dad too.

My Dad really was my old man, as he was born in June of 1938. The same month and year of the cover date of Action Comics #1. Superman was the first Superhero and perhaps even the first comic book my Pops got into.

Back then they didnt have super hero action figures and toys like they do now, so he made one of his own as a kid in the 40's. Its very old, awesome, and special to me, and I'm happy to share it with you. I hope you get a little kick out of this old comic book nostalgia.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Superman Nostalgia - Pete's Basement Extras

While some people may find Supermans comics to be boring or dry in comparison to a lot of super hero comics today, he's become a household name, and he's still one of the first characters that kids get into and recognize next to Spiderman and Batman.

Clark Kent has a long, rich history, and if you'd like to learn more about it, or introduce someone in your life to the man of steel, check out some of my favorite reading, watching (and other goodies) below.
