Bob's Books 7/25/08

It was an ok week. One huge X milestone and more Skrulls. A lot of them! Spoilers to come.

•the Exterminators 30 – I am sad to see this go. I mean you can’t really go on with a series on bugs but it was a good run and I hate to see them go. Damn vertigo does good stuff.

•Green Lantern Corps 26 – This is the gem of DC. No not this particular book but group. If it is green in DC then it is more then likely a good read. This book surprised me and in good ways. Get on this damn series now!

•JLA 23 – it truly sucks to be in this team. I mean you have the big 3 as back up but they are getting their ass handed to them left and right. This new Amazo is incredible. I hope they keep him around and not just simply break him. Though Red Tornado should get a body too.

•Joker’s Asylum: Scarecrow – I love this damn book. I’ve loved them all. But this one has some truly unique art. And the story was truly twisted. If you haven’t gotten on this mini I highly recommend getting the trade when it hits.

•Legion of Super-Heroes 44 – Ha! They sold out their tech to pay the bills. You just got to love that. That’s like the X-Men selling cerebro for money. It’s too funny!

•Robin 175 – This whole R.I.P. thing has got to end. I mean robin chasing after batman. Oh please. I like Tim Drake and would choose him as the heir but this book was corny!

•Superman 678 – it’s ok. I am looking forward to the Brainiac story in Action Comics.
What does that say about this story?

•Trinity 8 – Bring on the war! I really hope they don’t drag this crap on. This book is tolerable but they need to cut the crap. One book a week is one book a week. Not one part. If I wanted parts I’ll stick to the funnies!

•Broken Trinity 1 – Hw is it that Top Cow has a 3-issue event that is better then DC’s? Another 2 artifacts introduced. And these are quite powerful. Wooo!

•Avengers: the Initiative 15 – These kids get treated like crap at marvel. I mean they are expendable, which rocks. They are new and fresh. Fitting perfectly into the invasion and all the other wild ideas from Marvel.

•New Avengers 43 – Ok, we finally know what was involved with the “Heroes” that crashed in the Savage land. Damn Skrulls really are thorough! Really thorough! All that preparedness, hell they deserve earth. Or at least a merit badge in Conquering!

•Daredevil 109 – I didn’t like seeing DD all sad again but the book was good and intense. Captain America book is better but not by far. I am really just looking forward to that female Bullseye.

•the Immortal Iron Fist 17 – I like this book. I need to thank Adam and Pete for harassing me to get on it. It is the beginning of a arc and hence a great jumping on point. Get on it people.

•New Warriors 14 – I am so done with this book. This is a 1 of 2 story arc so after next ish I quit!

•She-Hulk 31 – She needs therapy. And a time out! But lucky for her X-Factor is around. They are looking for Darwin and she is looking for a Priest Super Skrull. Oh Yeah! I said it and it somehow was pulled off.

•Thunderbolts 122 – I do now know how I missed this book. But again I owe Adam and Pete thanks for getting me on this book. I should send them the bill too. Anyways, this book rocks! The villains are special to say the least and that is just the beginning.

•Ultimate X-Men 96 – I love the ultimate universe. I mean they had Firestar and Spider-Man and Shadowcat in one book. It all made sense too. The ultimate universe’s continuity is great. Mostly. Seeing a bunch of X-men juiced up was awesome too.

•X-Men Legacy 214 – A female Sinister! Is Marvel making a female version of villains? COOL! Ok maybe not so much but it’s interesting.

•Uncanny X-Men 500 – Wow. This just teased the hell out of me. Left so many questions open. I guess I will be around the X books for a while.

•Grimm Fairy Tales the Piper 4 – I am glad it’s over.
