Yo Pete, Here's More eBay Tips For Ya

Hey Pete, I love Your eBay segments and here's more tips for everyone:

1. A seller's mistake can be your gain. Sometimes sellers, especially new ones, can be careless. They might put a comic in the wrong catagory, or misspell an important word in the title. These listing don't get viewed as much and you could pick them up for a steal. Sometimes try searching a few misspelled variations of what you're looking for (like Spidreman, spidermn). You might be suprised to find something that is hiding out there. Example: I recently picked up a sweet silver age copy of Spider-Man #18 at an even sweeter price! How? The seller abbreviated Amazing Spider-Man as AMZG SPR MN in the title to use up less letters. This means that doing a search for Amazing Spider-Man or Spiderman wouldn't bring this listing up. Hardly anyone saw it and I picked it up for about $30!

2. The best time to buy is on the holidays. Use Christmas, New Years and Thanksgiving to your advantage. Some sellers are actually dense enough to have listings ending on a big holiday. Even holidays like the Memorial Day weekend can be good. You don't even have to miss out on family fun to rock these good auctions. Do what I do and plan ahead. When a holiday is coming, do a search for what's ending on that day (like Christmas morning or Thanksgiving afternoon/evening) then do one of two things. Set up a sniper program to do your bidding for you the day of or stick them in your watch list and bid on your phone (iPhone, people!). Even if you're sitting down for Thanksgiving dinner, just excuse yourself to go to the bathroom and whip out your phone to make a quick bid. Last year on Memorial day I snagged a VF+++ silver age copy of Spider-Man #35 for almost nothing while I was at a BBQ! HA! SUCKERS!

So there's a couple of tips that work great for me. Like I said before boys, eBay is a battlefield and I take no prisoners!!!

GREAT TIPS!

You can be sure I'm gonna try both of those tips -- since I gotta wait awhile for the next holiday (Easter I think) I'm especially gonna check out the misspellings!
Be sure to check out PB Episode 6 -- I gave you a shout out for these great Ebay tips!

As for the Amazing Spideys, I need only 86 issues to complete my collection, scattered sporatically between #s 21-193, respectively. I'd love to know how your ASM collection is going! Be sure to keep me posted on any major victories!

Yo Pete! Episode 6 Rocked...

...because you mentioned li'l ol' me! Damn, this must be what it feels like to be a rock star!

Thanks For The Shout Out

I'm looking forward to episode 6 now! The misspelling tip isn't always 100%. If you're diligent, you'll catch a misspelled title once in a while but it's worth it when you do. As for my own collection, I'm concentrating on issues 1 through 200 right now. I'm about 75% complete. I'm missing mostly the earlier issues. The earliest one I've got right now is #8 (but it's a NICE #8!).
