Danny's Blog #1 (GREEN ARROW/BLACK CANARY & BATMAN)

Wussup ya' this is PsYcHO better known around these parts as "special guest" Danny. I'm trying this blog thing for the first time. In my first blog entry I would be giving you an overview on "GREEN ARROW/BLACK CANARY" and "BATMAN". Now before I get into "GREEN ARROW/BLACK CANARY" let me give you a little overview on GREEN ARROW.

For those of you who may not read the adventures of the "Emerald Archer" I'll give you a quick synopsis. The GREEN ARROW comics tend to read like BATMAN comics but with alittle more real life drama. I guess I would put like this: If it were television, BATMAN would be an awesome action filled crime drama on cable TV and GREEN ARROW would be an awesome action filled crime drama on late prime time network TV. Both books are very detective like and deal with mobsters, drug dealers, murders, and more realism based villains. Stories revolve around something happening then they have to look for and study clues/evidence to get to the conclusion. But unlike BATMAN and taking nothing away from BATS. GREEN ARROW stories tend to touch on many real life topics while still giving you a good comic book like story. Many real society issues like racism, facism, poverty, politics, relationships of all sorts (exp: father/son, friends, and love) and many more. I would consider GREEN ARROW to be a very macho soap opera if I had to describe it in a simple form. So let's get into the overview.

Recently GREEN ARROW and BLACK CANARY tied the knot. A pack of villains lead by DEATHSTROKE crashed the wedding and a huge fight ensued with the villains and all the superheros in attendence. The superheros win and G.A. with his new wife CANARY go to start their honeymoon. Now at the hotel room CANARY comes out the bathroom wearing some very hot lingerie that made me wish I was a comic character. But being a real person didn't stop me from rubbing one out in my bathroom. Now I'm waiting to see a nice comic sex scene with strategically placed shadows and bed sheets covering CANARY's goods and making me hot in my boxer shorts, but to my displeasure it never happened. GREEN ARROW attacks BLACK CANARY and tries to kill her. The fight ends when BLACK CANARY pulls off an O.J. Simpson and puts an arrow into G.A.'s neck. She cries but then is convinced that it wasn't the real GREEN ARROW. BATMAN agrees with CANARY and after performing an autopsy on the GREEN ARROW corpse he finds out that it is not G.A. but it is EVERYMAN a shapeshifter. The search for the real G.A. begins when CANARY contacts SPEEDY (Mia Dearden) and G.A.'s son CONNOR HAWKE. Their search takes them to THEMYSCIRA aka Paradise Island home of the AMAZONS where apparently the real GREEN ARROW is being held captive. The leader of the AMAZONS (I can't remember her fuckin' name) explains that EVERYMAN was switched with the real GREEN ARROW during the wedding brawl and he was never suppose to attack her. She reveals to CANARY that he attacked her for fear of his cover being blown when he wasn't able to perform sexually due to erectile dysfunction. She further reveals that this was all a scheme to get BLACK CANARY to join up with the AMAZONS because of her great fighting skills. BLACK CANARY agrees to take part in a test which leads to her kicking the shit out of a bunch of AMAZONS in the arena. While this is going on CONNOR HAWKE finds GREEN ARROW on the other side of the island. They escape and signal CANARY and SPEEDY that they are ready to leave. CANARY and SPEEDY fight their way out of the arena and after meeting up with CONNOR and G.A. they continue to fight their way to their escape boat. Now sailing back to the city a beam of light, laser, bullet, or whatever the fuck shoots down from the clouds and hits CONNOR HAWKE in the chest. The issue ends with the doctors telling G.A. that CONNOR is in a coma and has suffered brain damage. That ends the story arc and leads to the current Issue out now which is GREEN ARROW/BLACK CANARY #5. This issue is basically a re-telling of CONNOR HAWKE's origin with some other good stuff added in there. It's more or less a stand alone story / setup issue for the next story arc but still a good read. That's all I'll give you for this issue because it's the current issue out and I wont spoil it for anybody who wants to pick it up.

Now onto THE DARK KNIGHT!! BATMAN hasn't really been talked about on "The Basement", then again there hasn't been much happening in BATMAN recently. We still coming off the huge "RAS AL GHUL" cross over so the Bat world is a little slow right now. That doesn't mean that nothing good is happening in Gotham City. Currently the main BATMAN title is only two issues out of the RAS crossover and into the new story arc. Now the big rumor or plot gimmick going around is the death BRUCE WAYNE. Is DC COMICS going to kill off MR. WAYNE? In my opinion and I'm sure others as well....HELL NAH!!!! But I'm still curious to see where this story goes. The new story arc started with BATMAN #672 and in this issue BATMAN goes up against some asshole in a BATMAN costume who has taken over GOTHAM POLICE H.Q. In an attempt to save COMMISSIONER GORDON he is shot in the chest. We all know BATMAN never heard of the word quit and since he's so fuckin' bad ass BATMAN still tries to kick the shit out of this BAT-IMPOSTOR but he passes out from an apparent heart attack. BATMAN #673 reveals BATMAN to be in a coma/meditation state. The issue then goes into a flashback and reveals something big from BATMAN's past. I won't spoil it because it was really cool, but that's my opinion. It also sucked alittle at the same time but that's for another blog entry to discuss. All in all BATMAN is looking good just waiting for it to get into the meat of the story. But then again I'm a huge BATMAN fan and will swing on the nuts of almost any Bat-Story.

That's it for this blog entry hopefully I won't be lazy and I can get inspired to do more of these. Laterz!!!!!!!!!!!
