Bob's Books 3/22/08

It was a good week. Hell I even picked up a variant.

•Batman and the Outsiders 5- I love the line-up on this book. I find the group effective and entertaining. Batman's team is on the offensive against i forget who. Know that would usually mean that this book sucks, me forgetting who they are fighting but it is the least important detail right now. Batgirl and Green Arrow! The team gets better and better per issue.

•Birds of Prey 116- Oracle is getting obsessive. As much as every one in the Bat family swears they are nothing like him they sure as hell don't show it. She is hell bent on getting her villain and will take it personal. Remind you of somebody? The huntress is on this team along with Manhunter and Lady Blackhawk. who gets brainwashed and used by an old enemies grand son. yeah sounds crazy but thats what comics are all about.

•Countdown 6- I refuse to write down the full title of this book. I am not even looking forward to Final Crisis. I will be picking it up to see if there are any major events that go down in this series.

•Justice League of America 19- This was a weak "ending" to the current arc. It left questions up in the air and might continue later on but they are just dragging this crap out. The truth is i feel DC is not meshing the whole of their universe together well.

•Robin 172- I am kind of iffy on the whole spoiler thing. i mean she died not that long ago and that really affected robin in a big way. why go back to milk that story so soon? I do like the addition of violet. Nothing beats a good female villain.

•Superman/Batman Annual 2- I was hating and liking this book as i turned the page. I love the way batz and supes interact. Why does it always shock people to learn that batz has a way to defeat you, even if your a friend. It's what he does! The conversation between the 2 is great also. the art was sub par.... way sub par!

•Dark Ivory 1- JM Lisner is more known for his Dawn series or better yet the Posters and pin-ups of her. This series i thought i would check out but it is moving slow and the next book is not out til MAY! it is a limited series so i am staying but i don't expect anything grand.

•Witchblade 116- The art is superb! The story is great too! the team is staying on for a long time! we have a comic dream here people. It is a great jumping on point and i so recommend this to everyone.

•Captain America 36- This is one of the top 5 books out in the WHOLE of COMICS! Just pick this up before you kick yourself about it, and you will!

•Captain Marvel 4- It's a limited series and i am glad for it. i don't see how they can drag this out too much. He died and was left alone and it seems like they are going to "return" him to that status, which i approve of. He is dealing with the fact that cancer will kill him, being a warrior that's a crap way to go out. i picked up this issues variant but i will bring that up on the next show...12th episode.

•the Incredible Hercules 115- I never liked him. I didn't. he was a loud mouth frat boy with a lot of muscles! That has changed since World War Hulk. Marvel is doing a good job of building up characters after big events. Nova and Ms. Marvel being clear signs of that. he has more depth and meaning now and will continue to grow in this series. I hope. I would like to see him interact with Thor in this book or the other.

•Thor 7- I liked it. Nice and gritty. Heavy is the crown and all that. They brought up odin, and that needed to be done. I didn't think it would of been done like this but it was a pleasant surprise. Quite frankly i didn't even know if thor still had the odin force in him til it was said in this issue. i guess it is now the thor force. He better keep it!

•Wolverine Origins 23- Deadpool is on fast track to being one of my top characters. He tries to take on wolverine and he is holding his own, barely. these 2 are great at what they do because of their healing factor. if it wasn't for that fact they both would of been dead.... a long time ago. I mean lets be real, snake eyes can take them out in a fair fight. meaning no healing factors. Anyways, this story isn't over yet it should come to an end next issue and i would then say jump on the trade.
