In 2006, I got an email from a friend. The subject line read something like ‘HOLY FUCKING RED HOT SHITBALLZ!!!!!11!!!!’ There was no message, no preamble; just a YouTube link. Hoping vaguely I wasn’t about to see a trailer for ‘GOATSE: THE MOTION PICTURE’, I clicked, and was rewarded with this a longish trailer for an amazing vanity project called ‘Grayson.’ The trailer set a world where Dick Grayson was grown, retired with a family, and Bruce Wayne continued his one man war on crime until somebody put a slug in him. Rest in peace Richard Griffiths. The portly British actor is probably best known for his role as Harry Potter's uncle, but he shall forever be immortalized in my mind as Dr. Albert Meinheimer and his uncanny evil doppelganger, the master of disguise, Earl Hacker in The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear. Two moments from that movie you will undoubtably recall. First Giffiths in a malfunctioning electric wheelchair, is launched off a balcony, and soars in silhouette against the full moon, E.T. style. MoCCA Fest 2013 is Almost Here!

Do you love comics and cartoons? Do you live near or can you get to New York City? MoCCA Arts Festival is on for the first weekend in April (6th - 7th). There you will find the titans of comics and cartoons collected under one roof, and in a more intimate setting than your typical comic con.

The Museum of Comics and Cartoon Art (MoCCA) almost closed its doors for good and was saved from oblivion by Society of Illustrators. They are running the festival this year for the first time. Come out and thank them by showing some love for your favorite American art form.
